Fans Cantonese Restaurant

Fantastic Duck!: These days there are many restaurants in Dublin that served authentic Chinese cuisine and Fan’s is one of them. We made a reservation for 5 people and travelled up from Co. Meath. It was December 2010, snowing quite heavily and there was traffic jams all around Dublin. We got caught on the M3 and were stuck in traffic for 2 and a half hours. By the time we reached Fan’s we were starving! Greeted by two lovely waitresses, shown to our table and quick to order. We ordered:

Two of us had a bottle of Tsingtao beer and we ordered a takeway half roast duck. Total price came to a little over €140 which is excellent considering what we ate and the fact we were 5 stuffed men (it takes a lot for a Chinese man to get full!) The best dish of the night was the roast duck. It was the reason we came to Fan’s. It was so tasty, crispy and simply delicious! Probably the best roast duck in Dublin. I didn’t really enjoy the crispy pork because I’ve tasted better elsewhere. But it was still a great dish. All in all it was a great meal and the 2 and a half hour wait in traffic was well worth it. Will definitely come back again.
